Dr. Christina Tanouye

Dr. Christina Tanouye is a native of Ventura County and loves working in her local community.  She received her B.S. in Physiological Science from the University of California Los Angeles and worked 3 years in clinical cancer research for UCLA Medical Center, immediately following
graduation.

Enjoying her patient contact experience, Dr. Tanouye returned to the Southern California College of Optometry and obtained her Doctor of Optometry in 2008. Her clinical background includes externships with the U.S. Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan; helping the underserved
at Optometric Center Los Angeles; and serving our veterans at the West Los Angeles Veterans Hospital. Dr. Tanouye is certified to diagnose, treat, and manage glaucoma and also has a passion for the pediatric population.

Working in ophthalmology for several years, she is well
versed in refractive and cataract surgical options for better visual outcomes. Patient care is her favorite part of the job and she is honored to work with local families.

When out of the office, Christina enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. She is blessed with a loving husband and son, who are her favorite travel companions. In her spare time, she is a baseball mom, plays the piano, takes Barre classes, skis, rock paints, and loves
concerts and musical theater.
